School!

Here is a video of Ryan before his first day of Preschool! Mommy missed it :( but they came by to see me at work afterwards. Ryan loves his class! It's a really nice program. I'm excited for him. We got him his bookbag and lunchbox to take with him. He's so big! I can't believe he'll be three this week!

Matthew got his 2nd tooth this past week - they are razor sharp! Needless to say, he is now an official bottle baby, and he's not liking it at all. Isn't there a saying about biting the one that feeds you????

Still Connected

We still have internet at the rental house, so I thought I'd post a couple pictures for you. We got a large chunk of things moved yesterday. Today it's the kitchen and last things, well, it will most likely spill into tomorrow too for the last things. We're definitely getting tired!

Here are two photos of the kitchen, one before and one from last night. It's quite amazing what they can do to these brick and cement houses. Jon, I think you would be impressed! They're widening the archway in between the kitchen and the dining room (at this point) and they've put in the doorway from the dining room into the backyard.

Oh, and here's a picture of Abigail's (most likely) last bath in a bathtub. In the new house there is just a shower stall, so we'll have to figure out something new for the little girl.

Harvest season at the farm...

Well, our "crop" is near its completion and with the rainy season a couple days off this is probably our last big pick of the summer. We are getting better each year at knowing what to plant, where, and how much. We had nearly 15 peppers this year, two have turned yellow and the rest are still getting big. We had the biggest carrot ever, part of it is in the picture. We also had our first attempt at corn :) We left plenty of room for improvement for next year. I have never seen corn soo small :) But we had three ears!
It sounds like everyone is in the swing of fall activities. We have got the fireplace roaring and are settling down for a nice quiet evening. Hope you all are enjoying the season change.

Moving out, moving in

We're moving out of this house tomorrow although will most likely be in and out getting last things and doing the final cleaning over the weekend. Most of the team is coming up tomorrow to help move all the big things over to the new house. We're pretty excited to get over there and start making it our "home". I'm sure it will take awhile though.

Our internet here is being turned off tomorrow and when Joel called to have it hooked up for the new house we were told it will be awhile before service workers can get there because of the recent storms. So many are without phones, internet, even drinking water right now. It's really pretty crazy, especially because the major damage happened not too far from here. So we'll be unable to connect for awhile, but we'll be thinking of you and we'll post/email when we can! Just wanted to give you a head's up!

Love you all!

Life around here....

Well...it's just Abigail and I here at home this week. My friend Kristi and her son, Luke came for a visit yesterday. He's 1 month older than Abigail and I think those two had the best time playing together than they have had yet so far.

Abigail is having a hard time taking a morning nap the past 5 days. I'm not sure if she's going to drop her morning nap already or if she's just having a hard time breathing because of her cold and if that keeps her awake. She'll be in her crib for the whole 2 hours, mostly just laying there and doesn't complain. I think she's tired and would take a nap if she could...we'll see how it goes!

Here is a fun recent picture of Joel and Abigail. I think they look a lot alike in this picture.I've been getting some scrapbooking done and I'm hoping to get some more done in the next couple days. My three girls, Anja, Nika & Tjasa came over last night to watch Persuasion, one of my favorite movies. It was fun to just hang out with them. They're such sweet girls!

Work was supposed to begin on the house yesterday but on Monday there was MAJOR storms all over Slovenia and one of the workers homes was 3 feet in water! There is flooding in a lot of places and one of Joel's favorite tourist spots is ruined. It was a Partisan Hospital during WWII that was hidden in a gorge. Many US Soldiers were treated there. The river that it's built over flooded and (I heard) that only 1 of the 30 buildings is left, the rest were washed away. So the worker needed to be at home to get his house de-flooded before working on ours. I feel bad for him, and was praying that he would have a lot of people around him to help him out. I've heard that 6 people have died from the storms.

Today Abigail and I went to the pre-school playground. She enjoyed watching all the kids running around. Here are some fun pictures from our time out...

Well...Abigail is down for the night, so I'm off to do some more scrapbooking and relax for the evening! Can't wait til Joel comes home...

On the go

Well, we are officially in trouble...Noah is mobile. He doesn't make it anywhere fast but he makes it none-the-less He still needs to refine his crawling but he has the right idea.

upcoming birthdays.....

.......Ryan's 3 on Oct 4th and Joel is _?_ on Oct 8th.

Dead Router

Just wanted to let you all know that our wireless router that we use for our Vonage phone died last week. We're not sure what happened and/or if we'll be able to fix it. With everything we've got going on right now we haven't had time to check into it. So for now, Joel's computer still has internet access (thankfully!) but we're out with the phone, and Amy's computer is offline right now. If you happen to have called or do call, the service is still going and receiving voicemails, but we're not able to retrieve them, just to let you know!

I'll write another update with pictures later! We're having a day of rest...aaahhh, so nice!

firsts!

Here are some pictures of Matthew's first tooth and of him standingup. It's hard to get him standing up, because he doesn't stay up for long! He gets so excited he's standing he looses his balance! He can't wait til he can get up and go with Ryan :)

GRANDPARENTS DAY '07

Dad and I had a fun time at grandparents day at Millbrook. We went to Morgan's classroom first and did a project with her. Then we moved to Katelyn's class and heard her read a story about Goldilocks that she had written. It was nice to see their classrooms, meet their teachers and get a feel for where they are 5 days a week. We also got to see Marie's classroom and meet her kids. We had a very busy 2 days but packed with fun stuff. It felt like a miny vacation! Us girls went shopping yesterday afternoon to our new favorite spot - Steinmart and the men watched a football game. From what I understand Joel was watching it too. Marie got a couple great deals! Can't find the deals and less you spend the time, right ladies! :) Oh, can you see Morgan is missing a front tooth?

Pensacola Woodards Family trip

We just got back from a short trip up to Atlanta to be with my parents. We had a really good visit! We were even able to visit my grandparents who i haven't seen in a very long time. They haven't met Matthew yet and haven't seen Ryan in over a year. It was nice, because Grandpa was actually 'with it.' For those who don't know, he has Alzheimer's and is in the nursing home, so sometimes he's himself, but mostly he's someone else. I fed Matthew his cereal and fruit while Grandma fed Grandpa his pureed lunch :) It was almost funny - we were both feeding our babies:) I got to help him finish eating and put him back to bed for his nap. It was so hard to leave him. Being a nurse, I know how horrid nursing home conditions are. It's hard to leave without knowing he's going to get good care. We did get to spend some time with Grandma too. Today is her 79th birthday! Next year dad turns 60 and Grandma is 80! More later... I had to work today, and I'm going back in the morning...
Oh, could you all please pray for Wanda Bland. She works night shift on my floor at the hospital and she goes to our church. She drowned/had a heart attack over the holiday and is still in the hospital. She is improving, but is still having a really hard time breathing - and sitting still! She's a very in command and 'go' type person so it's killing her that she isn't up and moving around. Please pray that she has a complete and speedy recovery! She's doing better, but the docs say she isn't out of the woods yet. Thanks!

Home

We are finally getting back to our regular schedule. Noah slept alone in his crib last night for 8 hours. He hadn't done that for a week since he slept with me while in TX. We had a wonderful time with friends and family and as always, Mom and I were emotional when it was time to leave. It was fun to show off Noah and he got to meet a LOT of people. He got to swimming 3 times and even went on a boat ride on the lake! He was such a trooper. He didn't get many naps and we were always doing something. He just slept when he could and smiled the rest of the time. It was blessing to have my mom there to help with Noah for the few times he was fussy.
My birthday was GREAT! It was nice to be home and Jon made me a beautiful lemon cake and blue ice cream. We went on a picnic to the park and then some friends called to see if they could watch Noah for us and we went to see the new Mr Bean movie. Fun times.
Noah had is 4 month check-up yesterday. They said he is very strong and healthy and I'm in for it once he starts crawling which will be soon. He is so active I'm gonna be running around like crazy when he moves. They think he will be getting teeth in the next month too. Oh boy...He is 26 inches long and 14lbs 12oz.
Well, I think that's enough for now. Noah is running around in his walker and I need eat. Grandma, he loves to look at the pictures of his cousins you gave him. I think he just took it off the refrigerator actually. Thanks for that!

It's Erin's Birthday today!!!!
