Today is Pust, a Slovenian holiday (and other countries too. It's Mardi Gras) where all the kids put on costumes so we joined in this year. Abigail borrowed a costume from her friend, Lili, and I got one for Eli at Children's Place for $5 when we were there at Christmas...a left-over from Halloween.
One of the malls was having something at 10am...I thought the sign said "face painting" so Sarah, Lili's mom, and I took the kids. It turned out that's not what they were doing and it was actually just one pre-school class there doing some fun dancing, then coloring a paper mask. They were nice and let the kids join in their fun.
For some reason...Donuts are a traditional thing to eat on this holiday. So after we all got donuts.
It was fun. Here's a link if you want to see more pictures. Enjoy!

everything is mardi gras here!! For the gulf coast, it is moon pies and plastic beads:) It's kinda weird - before we lived here I never heard much about mardi gras, but people take it seriously down here:) After tomorrow, it's ash wednesday and everyone begins the season of lent - I think it's catholic? They even have special services held for people who have to work at the hospital that day. The kids are too cute! I bet they had tons of fun:)
I love their outfits! I bet they had a blast! Our nurse was playing mardi gras music in the office today. It helped to lighten the mood. :)
