Global Warming

Hi fam!

I just watched Al Gore's documentary "An Inconvenient Truth" dealing with global warming. Maybe you've all seen it already. I was thinking about the Woodard family down southest...the Ben Woodard family. He showed slides of what would happen if part of Greenland melted and it showed a dramatic change in the coast of Florida...like most of the land would be under water. Yikes! Have you guys heard about that? Of course...Greenland ISN'T melting (yet) but...

So just thought I'd send that encouraging & inspiring thought your way... Joel is at a LAN party today/tonight, so there's no one home to give me a reality check. ; ) I've joined the band-wagon!!

Hope everyone's doing well!

Whenever global warming gets me down I just go up to the top of Mt Hood and I feel better.

i say let it happen:) it will change the face of american immigration forever - lol!! no more cuban rafts - i bet it would take a chunk out of the drug market as well.... then i can live home sweet home in ga and still have nice beaches :) though, ga might get a little crowded!

Hey Amy! Had to throw in my comments here--just cuz I AM my father's daughter. Yeah--there's a reason my name is Rainy: Dad was a meteorologist. If you ask him about global warming, he will tell you 1) the data is inaccurate (most weather stations are currently by airports. Hmmmm...), 2) it's all part of the normal ebb & flow of climate change (In the 60s we were worried about an iceage), and 3) it's all part of liberal politics. Now, you have to take that all with a grain of salt cuz he DID work for Reagan and he was never a fan of Al "I invented the internet" Gore. But he did more for "reducing carbon footprints" by living 91 years of re-using, recycling & conservation....probably more than his opponents. We never owned an American made car (they were not fuel efficient), he rode hs trusty red bike everywhere, and he only used local fruits & vegetables (He had one pear tree, one apple tree, one Italian plum tree, a grape arbor, and a full vegetable garden--all shared with the neighbors). Yes, we should all be stewarding this planet well, but not cuz Al Gore says so, but cuz it's Biblical & practical.
OK, off my soap box:) Rainy T.
