washers
Never, never buy a high efficiency clothes washer. It is a complete waste... We've been the not-so-proud owner of two in 4 short years. We've been having this dirty sock/mildew/sewer smell come out of our washer and out on to our clothes for a while. So, I did some surfing on the web to see if I was alone. Apparently I am in good company. AND apparently we all own the lovely earth friendly HE clothes washer. It doesn't matter the brand or cost. They all seem to have a similar problem. Ben and I dismantled ours tonight and found that we have the problem too. It won't drain! YUCKY.... SICK!!! as Ryan would say :) No wonder it smells so bad! I'm just glad we know what's wrong. Hopefully, we can get it fixed soon. I read several people had to replace theirs. Good thing we have a big fat warranty! Our last HE washer went ca-put after just one year - one month after the warranty went out.

Are you going to have to have them come out and repair it or is it something you can do? Where is the problem? With all the laundry you are doing now you definetly don't need a "sick" washer! Hope it's an easy fix.

Repair man is coming next week. I don't know exactly what the problem is, I just know that the washer stinks and our clothes smell worse and worse unless I pour a bunch of bleach in and run it without clothes. Then, it doesn't stink for like 2 days. It runs, just smelly :) It sounds like there is a bunch of water down in there that isn't draining. The repair guy said there is some down there all the time, though - but how do they expect for it not to mildew? I'm just tired of stinky laundry. Why wash it if it's going to stink anyway? I even switched to Tide, hoping that would help :)
